Abstract
This Act lays down, in accordance with European Union legislation, rules governing: (a) breeding and reproduction of cattle, buffaloes, horses, donkeys, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, breeding fish and bees; (b) protection, conservation and use of the genetic resources of animals; (c) marking of horses and donkeys and their cross-breeds, swine, sheep, goats and farmed game animals; (d) keeping records of horses and donkeys and their cross-breeds, swine, sheep, goats and farmed game animals, poultry, bees, breeding fish and aquaculture animals, records of holdings and records of persons specified in this Act. The text is composed of the following Sections: (1) General provisions; (2) Breeding of livestock; (3) Reproduction of cattle, buffaloes, horses, donkeys, swine, sheep and goats; (4) Reproduction of poultry, breeding fish and bees; (5) Sale and purchase of livestock, insemination dosages, embryos, ova and reproductive material of fishes and bees; (6) Marking and keeping records; (7) Inspection; (8) Penalties; (9) Common provisions.
