Abstract
This Act provides for certain matters required to implement fisheries legislation of the European Community in Finland. Section 2 appoints the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as the coordinating authority. Supervision at a local level shall be carried out by the Rural Activities District Offices in their respective areas (sect. 3). The Ministry shall keep a register for purposes of supervision and control and statistical purposes. Data regarding fisheries, trade in fish and fish products, sellers and buyers, fish transporters and financial measures shall be entered in the Register (sect. 4). Section 7 defines offences and prescribes penalties. The Ministry may issue further directives with respect to the restriction of fishing activities, fishing licences and licences for vessels, the Register, financial aid, and other matters to implement provisions of the present Act.
