Law on energy efficiency in the direct consumption.

This Law provides for a complete set of rules and standards necessary for: the efficient use of energy in the final phase or direct consumption; making plans and programs in order to improve the energy efficiency and its implementation; duties and responsibilities of the competent bodies, inspection and Energy Fund activities; energy efficiency measures; business energy services and energy audits; public sector liabilities related to the entities and large consumers; offences and penalties; and other important provisions.
This Law and its provisions will not apply to energy efficiency matters related to the energy production and energy transformation, transmission and distribution of energy as well as the conditions for carrying out the energy audit for issuance of building or energy certificates ect.
The purpose of this Law is achieving of goals related to the sustainable energy development: reducing the negative environmental impacts of the energy sector; improving the security of energy supply; meeting the needs of energy consumers and the international obligations of the Croatian territory in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions by promoting the use of energy efficiency measures in the sectors of final energy consumption.
This Law is divided into 8 Chapters and 37 articles.
