Abstract
This Law provides full standards and measures necessary for the correct freshwater fisheries sector and related activities. In terms of this Law, freshwater fisheries is the management activity of fresh fish (ground) water, and includes fishing, ranching, aquaculture, fish conservation and ecology of inland waters.
This Law also includes data collection standards, official control requirements and offences and penalties provisions.
The Law is divided into XI Chapters and 94 articles.
Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the day of its publication in the Official Gazette and will be fully applied from 1 January 2002.
Notes
On the effective date of this Law, the Law on freshwater fisheries (Official Gazette 18/86, 43 / 86 and 34/89) will be no longer in force.
