Abstract
This Regulation, with the aim to implement the rational management and protection of bluefin tuna, provides for the adoption of the terms contained in the Regulation (EU) 2016/1627 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 September 2016 on multiannual plan for the recovery of bluefin tuna in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, and its repealing Council Regulation (EC) No. 302/2009 (in their parts related to catch, breeding and traffic/transport of bluefin tuna, including various related provisions such as: quota and the principles of the its distribution; issues regarding the tools and equipment; recreational fishing of tuna (Thunnus thynnus); catch records and cross-checking of data; use of the vessel monitoring system; and many other.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
