Regulation on the Catch, Cultivation and Trade of Tuna (Thunnus thynnus), Swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and Needleloom (Tetrapturus belone).

For the purpose of the rational management and conservation of tuna, this Regulation provides for the: a) allowed catch quantity of tuna for 2011, classified by type of fishing and fishing gear; b) temporary ban on the use of certain fishing gear; c) the minimum size of the catch; d) way of practicing sport fishing of tuna, swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and needleloom (Tetrapturus belone); e) methods of conducting recreational fishing of tuna, swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and needleloom (Tetrapturus belone); f) measures for the performance of breeding; g) measures for the control of fishing capacity and fishing fleets; h) measures to control the breeding capacity of a specific installation; i) catch data delivery, transfer, transhipment, landing and breeding; j) records of catch and cross checking of data; k) use of vessel monitoring systems; l) program for the observers on board of fishing vessels and farms; m) market measures and standards.
The Annexes I-XIX are an integral part of this Regulation.
