Abstract
This Law here defines various conditions and necessary manner for the safe, correct and controlled production, processing, use, transport, importation of plant seeds (on the territory of the Republic of Serbia), further prescribing the testing requirements (to be performed over the quality of seeds of agricultural plants), issues regarding the seedlings of agricultural plants and mycelium of edible and medicinal mushrooms, including the recognition of newly-created domestic varieties and approval rules for the introduction of foreign varieties in the production; and registration of varieties of agricultural plant in the national Register of agricultural plant varieties.
This Law is divided into XV Chapters and 108 articles, including the offences and penalties.

This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Notes
Articles 64-89 related to the recognition of agricultural plant varieties and entry into the register of agricultural plant varieties cease to be valid ((see Article 50 of the Law on the Recognition of Agricultural Plant Varieties – 30/2010-111).
