Abstract
This Act applies to fishing for which use is made of fishing vessels which are under duty of registration pursuant to Act No. 1 of 1917 relative to registration and marking of fishing vessels. The Act deals with questions of ownership and transfer of fishing vessels in relation with registration of vessels and criteria which vessels shall meet in order to be admitted in the register. Such criteria, introduced pursuant to national or international measures to protect fish resources, may, pursuant to section 6, be established by the Department of Fisheries. Various other provisions give regulation making powers either to the Department or the King with respect to important matters of fisheries e.g. the establishment of catch quotas, licences, and other fish resources management and conservation measures.
