Abstract
This Law regulates the management of fish resources (that are owned by the state) in fishing waters, which includes the protection and sustainable use of fish stocks, public informing, monitoring, commercial fishing issues and many other relevant principles.
The management of fish stocks is conducted in accordance with the principle of sustainable use, which contributes to the preservation of diversity of fish species and ecological integrity of aquatic ecosystems.
The Law is divided into VIII Chapters and 68 articles, including the offences and penalties.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the "Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", except for the provisions of articles 3 (par. 8 and 9) which will apply on 1 January 2016.
