Law on Agricultural Land.

This Law regulates the protection, use and change of use of agricultural land, the disposal of land owned by the Republic of Croatia, the establishment and activity of the Agency for agricultural land, private land sales, and administrative and inspection measures and standards.
This Law is divided into 9 Chapters and 110 articles. The Chapters are: General provisions; Maintenance and protection of the agricultural land; Use of the agricultural land; Change of land uses and fees; Use of the agricultural land in state ownership; Agricultural Land Agency; Available private agricultural land; Supervision and monitoring; Penalties; Transitional and final provisions.
Agricultural land is of special interest for the Republic of Croatia and has its special protection.
Agricultural land in terms of this Law shall be considered: arable land, meadows, pastures, orchards, olive groves, vineyards, ponds, reeds and marshes and other land that can be brought to agricultural production.
Agricultural land must be able to maintain the agricultural production. Maintenance of agricultural land capable of agricultural production is considered as a very important task. Local governments are obliged to dispose the land owned by the state in a way that it is able to maintain the agricultural production.
Legal or physical persons are obliged to monitor the conditions of agricultural land which are using on the lease, long lease and concession for ponds.
