Abstract
This Regulation defines fisheries sector specifying: fisheries licences, sport fishing, changes in aquaculture areas, the use of explosive and harmful substances in fishing activity, hazardous materials and pollutants which are prohibited to be discharged within aquaculture areas, specifications, conditions and use of fishing gear, regulations on trawling, accidental catches, fish health, processing of manufactured and semi-manufactured fisheries products, marketing procedures and prohibitions, limitations, liabilities, precautions, quality control and safety inspection and proper management of stocks. This Regulation consists of 11 chapters divided into 36 articles and 10 annexes. It concerns procedures and conditions for obtaining a fishing licence, listing forms for requiring a fishing licence; fishing gear for sport fishing; aquaculture infrastructure requirements; prohibited activities; marine pollution (dumping of hazardous waste in water); fishing gear, etc. It also prescribes quality standards, hygiene control and import and export of fisheries products for human consumption (treated food requirements, disease prevention, quarantine, etc.).
