Abstract
This Law regulates: the legal status of water and water estate; the methods and conditions of water management (water use, water protection, regulation of watercourses and other water bodies, and protection from adverse effects of water); the method of organizing and performing water management tasks and functions; basic conditions for carrying out water management activities; powers and duties of Government administration and other Government bodies; local authorities and other legal subjects; and other issues of importance to water management.
This Law is divided into 17 Chapters and 263 articles.

Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette, except for provisions 3 and 6 of article 107 that shall enter into force on 1 January 2011.
