Abstract
This Law provides for the registration, control, circulation, imports and application of plant protection products in agriculture and forestry. The Law also envisages establishment of the national reference laboratory for residues.
The Ministry of Agriculture shall be the unique authority responsible for the registration, placing in circulation and post-registration control of pesticides. Requirements and procedures for applying for the registration of plant protection products are set out in the text.
The Law prescribes in detail requirements for the circulation of plant protection products and for the importation of plant protection products, active substances and basic substances.
The Law further provides for: services related to plant protection products; establishment of an Expert Council for Plant Protection Products; record-keeping, data collection and exchange of data on plant protection products; funds for the implementation of this Law; inspection supervision over the application of the provisions of this Law; offences and penalties; etc.
Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force 8 days after its publication in the Official Gazette except for articles 11-25 which will enter into force on 31 December 2013.
